Welcome!
I am Annie Reyes
If you’re looking for a way to unwind, add a little color to your day, or simply enjoy the creative process, you’re in the right place. I’m Annie Reyes, artist, author, and the creator behind Annie Reyes Art.
You may have discovered my work through Hivedeco, the original name of my creative studio. As my art and coloring books grew, I chose to lead with my name, so everything you see here is part of Annie Reyes Art, with the same heart and mission behind it.
My Hispanic heritage, with Cuban and Venezuelan roots, inspires everything I do, from the colors I choose to the stories I tell through my illustrations. I’ve also faced anxiety and health challenges, especially after COVID, and I found comfort in prayer, creativity, and coloring. That’s why I pour my heart into every book and illustration I create.
My Path
My name is Annie Reyes, and I am a Latina artist, author, illustrator, designer, and entrepreneur with Cuban and Venezuelan roots. Creativity has been part of my life for as long as I can remember.
I grew up in Venezuela in a home where art was always present. My mother’s love for painting and porcelain first introduced me to the joy of creating, and that early influence eventually led me to study Graphic Design and build a career spanning more than 35 years in design, marketing, branding, and communications.
After moving to the United States, I continued working in the creative and marketing fields, painted murals, and built my own marketing business. But as life and work evolved, creating art for myself gradually took a back seat.
Then came 2020.
During the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic, I found myself returning to prayer, a pencil, and the creativity I had carried with me since childhood. I began painting again and eventually created more than 500 commissioned pieces on cheeseboards and other everyday objects. What began as a way to cope with a difficult time became the beginning of an entirely new chapter of my life.
I was over 50 when I returned seriously to art, and that experience taught me something I now carry into everything I do:
Creativity has no age limit.
Today, through Annie Reyes Art, I create original illustrations and adult coloring books designed to invite people to slow down, exercise their imagination, reconnect with creativity, and enjoy the simple satisfaction of bringing a blank page to life.
Every illustration begins by hand. I then use digital tools such as Procreate to refine my drawings while preserving the character and detail of the original artwork. In an era increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence, continuing to create with our own hands and exercise our imagination has become even more meaningful to me.
My coloring books now reach colorists throughout the United States, Europe, Latin America, Australia, and beyond, with several titles ranking among the Top 500 best-selling books in their Amazon categories. What began as a personal creative journey has grown into an international community of more than 45,000 followers, along with licensing collaborations, educational tutorials, creative partnerships, and new publishing opportunities.
But some of the moments that mean the most to me have nothing to do with rankings or numbers.
I have seen my artwork and coloring books incorporated into activities supporting individuals in recovery and wellness initiatives for women affected by breast cancer. I also earned my Art Therapy Certification, deepening my understanding of the connection between creativity and emotional well-being.
My journey has received recognition from organizations including Women We Admire, Marquis Who’s Who, United Latinas, Influential Women, WomELLE, and others. I have been named among the Top 50 Women CEOs, recognized as a 2026 Honored Listee by Marquis Who’s Who, received the Female Voice Award as an Inner Peace Advocate, and was nominated by United Latinas for its 2026 Top 50 Over 50 Latinas recognition.
I am also a co-author of Extraordinary Latinas, Volume IV, a bestselling collaborative book celebrating the stories, resilience, and achievements of Latina women.
Yet the recognition I value most comes when someone tells me that one of my illustrations encouraged them to pick up their pencils again, try something new, or simply spend a little time creating.
I began this chapter after 50, and now, at 60, I am still creating, learning, building, and discovering where art can take me next.
My hope is that my journey encourages others—especially women who believe they may have waited too long—to remember that starting a new chapter does not mean starting from zero. We carry with us everything life has already taught us.
Art is the universal language. Creativity has no age limit.
Why I Create What I Believe
I make coloring books for adults who want more than just a way to pass time. Maybe you’re looking for a moment of calm, a little encouragement, or just a fun, creative escape. My hope is that you’ll find all of that (and maybe a bit more) in the pages I draw.
Each book is self-published and made with love right here at Annie Reyes Art world. I pour my heart into every illustration, hoping it brings you the same peace and happiness it brings me.
Creativity is for everyone, no matter your age or background. Art can be a gentle companion during tough times. Encouragement and kindness are always worth sharing. Your story and your journey matter, coloring is just one way to honor them.
